Blister, bee stings, and blood, oh my. This was quite the adventure in more ways than I had anticipated! Thank you to all for your impeccable team work, and helping out team members in need. It was a beautiful day to witness, both in terms of the view and the people.

Yeah, its a memorable trip that I will not soon forget. I still have the swelling around my eye from the bee sting, but the hike itself was pretty epic. I hope everybody else is recovering from their injuries all right.

Hey Brian, I am aware Ice Axe necessary, but would crampons. Did Pinnacle Peak Mt. Rainier National Park about 3 weeks ago and the snow was soft enough to easily boot up. No problems though if you still require it I am just renting equipment so just want to know for sure.

In the morning, the gully leading up to Headlee Pass will likely be shaded so, depending on overnight temps, the snow could be firm. A recent trip report indicates they're helpful in the morning and not so during the afternoon descent: http://www.nwhikers.n...

A couple of days ago, I emailed Namhee to let her know I have an opportunity to climb Glacier Peak the same weekend as this Vesper scramble. Once the Glacier Peak group's confirmed its date, I'll change my RSVP to no.

    July 10, 2013

  • Jason

I've just taken a glacier travel course, and am looking forward to getting out on some more moderate snow and interesting scrambles.

    Hi Brian,

Let me know if I need anything else. Can drive and take up to 3 people. Thanks,

    Alan
