A couple of hours ago, the main Instructor, Greg, sent the following email. I'm copying it here in case your inbox marked his email as 'spam'.

Thanks for registering for the Intro to Map & Compass seminar for this upcoming Wednesday, 18 September. Those of you that are currently on the wait list will be added as we are expanding the class size. You should receive an email confirmation from the Mountaineers in a day or so. The Intro to Map & Compass class provides the basic fundamentals in understanding how to read a USGS Topo or Green Trails map, purchase/use a compass, and use both with other essential skills to effectively navigate in the wilderness. Concepts such as studying map topography, identifying parts of a compass, and taking bearings will be fundamental skills that you will take away from the class.

As this is an intro seminar you are not required to bring anything but feel free to bring a compass and a map.

Mints and Gabriel are riding with me so I have space for one more passenger. We'll leave Eastgate park and ride at 5:15pm.

Nice. The Navigation Course (which includes an outdoor field trip) is one of the Mountaineers' best.

By any chance, is this course available for the weekend too ? Would like to take it, but not sure if I can make P&R by 5.30 on a weekday.

    • Brian

Mountaineers spend their weekends in the mountains so... the course is offered only twice (currently) this Summer and Fall during the week.

Thank you Brian, I would like to carpool with you.

I'm helping (not leading) instruct this course. If anyone wishes to carpool from the Eastside (Bellevue Eastgate park and ride), I can take 3 passengers. It is recommended we leave the park and ride no later than 5:30 PM.
