Double Feature Day Hike: Cedar Butte and Rattlesnake Ledges

We will meet at the Rattlesnake Lake State Park, then head west on the Iron Horse Trail formile to the Cedar Butte trailhead. Going up, we will take the scenic Blowout trail to the summit to enjoy the views (about a 800 foot gain). Then back down to the trailhead and up to the Rattlesnake Ledges (about 1,100 foot gain). The overall hike is around 8 miles.

**Timeframe**

Cedar Butte Hike: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Rattlesnake Ledges: 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

**Directions from Seattle/Issaquah**

Drive East on I-90 to exit 32 (436th Avenue SE). Turn right (south) on 436th Avenue SE (Cedar Falls Road SE) and drive about 4 miles to the well-developed Rattlesnake Lake parking area on the right. Go past the first parking lost for Rattlesnake Ledges and take the first left into the Iron Horse parking lot. I will be parked at the entrance to the park with a Seattle Outdoor Adventurer's sign posted on my black F-150 truck. A Discover Pass is required at the trailhead.

Hope for sunny and clear, but plan for cold and wet. We will stop at the cars between the two hikes for about 10 minutes.

Hi Brent, I already committed to a hike with a different group for today since I didn't think I would get a spot on this one. Apologies for not taking myself off the wait list. I look forward to joining you on another hike. I had a great time last time I hiked with you and the group. Best, Kim

Do you ever hike on Saturday? Or only Sunday?

    • Brent D.

I do hike on Saturdays sometimes, but usually Sunday.

I will still go on the hike only on the condition that other people are interested in carpooling from green lake park and ride at 7:15. If I don't get enough response, I will opt out of this one. it seems that you, Gabriel, want to leave from there. Do you have a vehicle to drive?

Sorry, I think I'm going to pass on this hike, as I have not received response regarding the carpool from Green Lake in Seattle. I don't really feel like driving all the way to North Bend from where I'm at. Sorry this comes late, but hope all goes well tomorrow. Enjoy.

Looks like I made it into the going list from the waitlist. Are 2 friendly dogs OK to take?

It seems as if a lot of the people who were going to go from Green Lake P&R at 7:15 are no longer on the roster. Anyway, I was wondering who would still be interested in meeting up at Green Lake beforehand to carpool, and who would be willing to drive?

Clearing my spot as well. This appears to be very popular and I got into another hike this weekend so I'll still be able to get my fix.

Freeing up my spot, don't think I'll enjoy the hike if it's raining.

I have to step aside because something came up. Am opening my spot so someone on the waiting list has an opportunity. Enjoy.

... The hike is 11 miles and climbs up to 3500'. This is a one-way hike, so we would meet at Snoqualmie Point Park, then take a few cars and drive over to Rattlesnake Lake. I propose a start time of 9:00. Would anybody be up for this?
