Looking for outdoor adventures; kids are grown, looking to explore the beauty of the NW and beyond, and having fun doing it!
This should have been a more advanced hike with scrambling on the coulees, which is why many people attended. Instead we catered too much to beginning hikers and scramblers, and even extremely young children. The downside of this is that experienced hikers set aside their entire day, drive hundreds of miles, and then wait around a LOT for beginners and neophytes. Constructive criticism: At the very least we should have split the group into two groups; more advanced and a beginner's group. A LONG way to drive to do such an elementary hike, and we kept the whole group together for the whole day! Also, the group was waaaay too big and cumbersome; keep the group size to 15 or less. This same outing was so spectacular last year, and a big disappointment this year; better luck next time, I'm not giving up! Michael is an awesome leader but he absolutely cannot please everybody so he needs to set some standards and then stick by them. Hope that helps, Allan
