Announcing a new Meetup for New York Hiking and Outdoor Adventurers!

What: Halloween weekend hike to abandoned Doodletown

When: November 2,[masked]:45 AM

Price: $5.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: We'll hike for about 7 miles around the abandoned town of Doodletown. We'll visit a couple of cemeteries along the way while enjoying some fall color.

Transportation is currently by Shortline bus out of Port Authority. [masked]-8484. Take the bus to Bear Mountain but ask the driver to let you off at the Iona Island Bird Sanctuary on 9W that is 1.5 miles south of the Bear Mountain Bridge. The ticket window for Shortline is in the north wing of the bus terminal.

I hoping to get enough drivers to change the method of transportation to the train. More details to follow by Saturday morning.

There will be a $5 fee which I'll collect at the beginning of the hike. I'll use your fee to pay meetup and to buy some trail maps that I'll make available to anyone in the group.

Another method of paying your way would be by volunteering to organize something for our group. It would be great if everyone chose this option.

costumes are highly encouraged
