Bike the American Tobacco Trail

Start at White Oak Chapel and go north 9 miles to the end and return for 18 miles. Anyone wishing to go shorter can turn around at any time. Those up for more can go south about 4 miles for a total around 26. All speeds levels welcome.

Sorry about the late RSVP. I have had something come up at last minute. Hopefully, there will be another gathering soon.

Next time when the trail isn't muddy. Cleaning the road bike will be a bear of a job

I've never been to the American Tobacco trail and I have a Brompton folding bike, will it make it okay on the trail? I read somewhere that they do terrible in muddy areas

I don't know how wide your tires are. If they are 1 1/8" or wider you should be ok. THe first two miles are unpaved and likely to be muddy after all of this rain. The northern 7 miles are paved, so are fine. I hope you can join us.

I will wait until Thursday to see what the chance of rain does, but it is currently 60%. If it is still 60% tomorrow, I will postpone until Sunday at the same time.

I will be there. Is there really a 10 person limit?

You know, hardly ever everybody shows up. If everything fails, we could always split up in two groups. Slow folks (like me), and fast folks ....(probably everybody else ...lol). And there is that chance of rain :(.
