ATT Bike Ride

Let's meet in time to be riding by 10:00 am.  This ride will be around 10-11 mph and we'll ride about 3 hours total which is about 30-35 miles.  If you only want to ride part of the trail with us you can turn back at any point.

Make sure your tires are inflated, your brakes work properly and that you have the necessities to change your tire in case you get a flat.  Believe me, it does happen.

I'll send my cell to those attending the night before the event.  Since I can't predict the weather, be sure to check the meet-up calendar and/or your email before heading out.  Hope to see you there.

    A mighty beer!
And the weather Gods smiled on us.
After my hindquarters recover, I'm in for another ride.

Thanks All. Great meeting everyone. I made it for a round trip of 27miles, my longest ever. I didn't quite make the last 3 but hopefully I will be able to in the near future. Thanks Sophie and Jack for putting this together.

What kind of bikes do most members have? I need to buy a bike. I'm not interested in doing triathlons, or bike races, so don't need a super duper racing bike. I'm sort of thinking along the lines of a cruiser, but my husband said that would be a big mistake with all the hills around here. What do the majority of folks have in this club?

Yes, Fred's right, a hybrid. I tend to keep my shocks locked because the ATT is quite flat.

hybrid or a road bike will work just fine.

Hi is this entire route paved?

It's compacted dirt with some small rocks for a few miles going North from White Oak station but, after that, it's all paved into Durham. I think a regular road bike works fine on the compacted dirt if you don't have thin racing tires.

Hi, if any Beginning Bikers want to do a 90 minute ride starting at the same spot Sat. AM 3/22, I have one posted on the Isis Athletics meetup site.

I'll be here weather permitting and if I am off work. I should know this week my schedule for next 6 weeks so if I am not off can change RSVP. Looking forward to this, hope all works out so I can come.
