Eno River Hike - Newest MST Section

We will start at Penny's Bend (Old Oxford Rd. & Snow Hill Rd., Durham) and end up at West Point on the Eno Park. The out and back mileage is about 10 miles.   Note: Anyone wanting to do only 5 miles can contact me to arrange to leave a car at West Point.

Hike Start Location: Old Oxford Rd & Snow Hill Rd Durham, NC 27712 (Penny's Bend)  If you input this intersection to your GPS, it will get you there.  Parking area is off the very end of Snow Hill Rd.

This is the first hike in the Eno River portion of the MST.

Remember to bring water.

If you're planning to do the whole hike, plan to bring a lunch or at least a snack to have along the way.

A contact number will be sent to members who RSVP for this event.

Going to try to do 8 miles closer to home that day and see how my foot holds up... Need to walk on flat areas right now. Have a great hike!

Ann, has the 'bridge' been relocated to its proper place. The washed out 'wooden plank' was a bit of a nuisance in the "Exploratory Hike of Newest MST Section - 2nd Try".

It was when another group did it after us. With the recent weather it could be down again, but if it is, we will use the alternate route.

Cancelled dr appt. Some things just aren't as important as a good hike! Ann, I have a question...I mapquested the address, is it possible it's Lebanon and not Durham there? That's the only thing that comes up.

I put the intersection into Mapquest and it did say Lebanon, but it's the right place. If you put it into Google Maps, it says Durham. Go figure.

Ok, good. I just wanted to make sure I had the correct area. Thanks!

I am going to try the 10, though I may regret it. I'll bring a frozen water bottle for some foot therapy at the lunch break.

Finally, a date I can do! Would love to do the 10, and if we stop for lunch and it is relatively flat, "I think I can!"

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
