"Plan B" - Bike the Bridle Trail in Umstead

This was originally posted as a ride from Anderson Point Park to Farmer's Market, but since part of that trail is closed, we'll ride the Bike/Bridle Trail in Umstead, at a moderate pace, for around two hours.

Thanks Marcia, Jen, and Dave for making it such an enjoyable ride - (post-ride) coffee was fun, too! Yes - let's do it again!

How many miles and how hard is the terrain? I'm thinking of giving it a try.

I haven't ever biked in Umstead, but I think these trails are easy enough...flat and fairly wide, with some gravel and some packed dirt...Come give it a try and we'll find out together!

so if the ride is too challenging/not fun, plan "C" is coffee somewhere nearby!

I thought there was a section of the Walnut Creek Trail between Anderson Point and the farmers market that was closed due to paving the section that was gravel/packed soil. ???

You are right, Les - thanks for alerting me. I'll have to come up with a plan B - checking the other closures now.
