This is a one way hike on the Appalachian Trail from Wawayanda State Park to CR 517 in Vernon, New Jersey. Expect scenic viewpoints; (Pinwheel Vista) and steep elevation (1000 ft.) declines (Stairway to Heaven) and inclines. We pass through a farm and then the hike ends on the Pochuck Boardwalk section of the AT at CR Route 517.

MEET AT THE END OF THE HIKE FIRST @ 9:30 AM so we can determine the amount of cars necessary to transport hikers to the starting point at Wawayanda State Park.

There is parking along the guardrail at this Appalachian Trail crossing over County Route 517. This parking area is between Carol Drive and Meadowlark Drive on County Route 517, Vernon, NJ.

4 Meadowlark Drive, Glenwood, NJ 07418. Turn into this street, then turnaround and park on County Route 517 along guardrail. There is a brown Appalachian Trail sign with a hikers graphic here. (Note: Glenwood is in Vernon, NJ)

Following, is a link to history about this boardwalk section of the AT in Vernon. It will amaze you to see its path and construction.
