Not for beginners...Bring mico spikes or crampons

This rugged 8-10 mile strenuous hike because of some rocky sections and the length. We will be rewarded at the summit of our climb with some great panoramic views of the reservoirs, the mountains and even the NYC skyline!

Starting hike promptly at 9:30am so be there early and lasting approx. 5-6 hours

Meeting at the outer lot just before you enter the Weiss Center

If you RSVP, Show up. No need to RSVP a "no" if you are not coming

Bring lots of water, lunch or snack along the way.

We will be taking Green Trail to Otter Hole, Blue Trail, White Trail to Chikahoki Falls, then some good climbs up Yellow Trail to Carris Hill, Blue Trail to YooHoo Point, Wyanokie High Point etc, and back down to Green Trail to parking lot.

Directions: From Route 80, take Route 287 N to Exit 55, CR 511 N (Ringwood Ave). Go on 511 for 3.9 m and then turn left on W Brook Rd/Westbrook Rd. Go for 2.0 m and turn left onto Snake Den Rd for about 0.8 m to the parking lot on the right.

    Since there is snow on the ground will regular (short) hiking boots do ok?

      There's hardly any water to cross and the elevation change is a few hundred feet, so that's probably OK. If we get any more precip before Saturday then...?

    Be careful, as the original Mine Trail closed about a year ago. If you head to Roomy Mine, it will require a longer hike out than previously, but one of the routes on Ball Mountain includes new view points!
