New Meetup: Cougar Mountain Trail Run

From: Jen 5.
Sent on: Friday, September 10, 2010 5:18 AM
Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Get up Get on Out!

What: Cougar Mountain Trail Run

When: Tuesday, September 14,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Sky Country Trailhead- Cougar Mountain
166th Way SE
Bellevue, WA 98006

Ferns, waterfalls, bugs, mud, and... hopefully no blood.

Meet at the Sky Country Trailhead at 5pm.
Start running at 5:10 (please call if you're running late or want to try to catch us later).
My cell number will be sent to yes's and maybe's one day before the meetup.

Hoping to have two pace groups and options for more or less distance.
ALL PACES WELCOME! We'll try to pause and re-group periodically so no-one is left behind! :-)
Route: To be determined...

Navigating the trails:
Nearly all the intersections are well marked with signs so it's pretty easy to avoid getting totally lost...assuming you have a map.
We will try to bring some extra maps with us. They usually have free maps available at the trailhead kiosk as well.

A run "leader" could mark intersections"fern arrows" if folks want to play follow the leader.

Might go out to dinner after while the traffic dies down. (Clean clothes/shoes?)

It's a good idea to bring:
A map, a running buddy, water, food, HEAD LAMP or flashlight, extra shirt/coat, maybe a cell kit... the usual essentials.
If you RSVP "yes" you could post your approximate running pace. That will help others see that they might have someone to run with.

Carpooling: Use the comment section if you want to share the ride.

Questions? Post 'em in the comment section or email me through Meetup.

*This Meetup is cross-posted on the WA Trailrunning group*

Getting there:
Sky Country Trailhead
From I-90 Eastbound, take the Lakemont Boulevard SE (Exit 13) exit. Head south (turn right) for 2+ miles on Lakemont Boulevard SE. Turn left onto SE Cougar Mountain Way; go 0.6 miles and then turn right onto 166th Way SE. Follow this road through the gate and look for the parking lot on your right.
