I've been getting requests for a short snow shoe designed for beginners, parents and kids. So We'll put together a 2-3 mile snowshoe where we will spend about half our time building a snow fort, doing weird races and doing other goofy things. We'll have fun helping people play in the outdoors. Bring warm clothes and snacks.
If your little one probably wont be up for walking 2-3 miles, bring a sled or something to pull them on, while we can all take turns carrying for a little while, it does get tiring.
I'll bring the snow shovel and have loaner snow shoes. I'll bring a hot stove for kid cocoa, besides being just after new years the adults could use a low proof day.
We'll hike Gold Creek, it's pretty flat and the lower part is far enough away from the avalanche chutes to minimize that risk pretty well.
Who should come, anyone that likes to play or wants to learn how to play in the snow. If you want a hard cardio work out, the only way you'll get one on this outing is if you do most of the digging.
This event is cross posted with PNWH and GUGO so if one is full check the other one.
I'm bringing snow shoes for the following people:
Hope to see you there - let's go play - Saul
