Announcing a new Meetup for Seattle Get up Get on Out!

What: Mount Washington Hike + Picnic
When: Sunday, July 31,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Wilburton P&R
[masked]th Ave SE
Bellevue, WA 98004

With clear skies in the horizon, and wildflowers in bloom, let's have a Sunday picnic at Mount Washington. Located off Exit 38 down Hwy 90, this hike offers a challenging route comparable to neighboring Mailbox and Si, as well as a generous view of the surrounding area for those who reach its summit, with a prettier ascent (in my humble opinion).

What to bring: No snow gear necessary. Please do, however, pack BUG SPRAY (I can not emphasize this enough) and sunscreen. Also, let's make a picnic of it at the top; bring something to share... I'll come up with a dish between now and then. Include yours in your RSVP, please and thank you.

The details:

Meet at Wilburton P&R @ 8am. This oasis has much easier access than Eastgate (and shaves a few miles from your trip).

Rate: Moderate-Difficult (please keep this in mind before you RSVP)

Distance: 4 1/2 miles

Gain: ~ 3100 ft (the trip report cites the gain to the first viewpoint, not the summit)

Pace: Moderate (Again, this isn't an easy or beginner hike)

For more information, please see the WTA Description, specifically, the last trail report:

http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-washington-1

See you on the trail!

Mark

Check it out!
