Hello fellow aficionados:
If you like jazz, you are in for a treat. I saw Mr. Elling years ago when he just popped into a place in New York called "The Rodeo Bar & Grill." Yup. Not your typical venue. I was there to hear some other band and he stopped by and sang a few songs. Totally blew me away. I have no memory of the band that played afterwards, whether I liked them, or how I got home that night.
Recently I casually asked a friend (who's always plugged into the jazz scene) if he knew if Kurt Elling ever played in Denver. Well, he got back to me and let me know he's playing two nights at Dazzle. If you can't make it on the 13th, there's always the 12th. We're doing the early set, but he does two sets each night:
6:30 - 7:45
8:30 - 9:45
If it's sold out (as I expect it will be), you won't be able to stick around for the 2nd set, but if we're lucky, perhaps we will.
OK. Enough sales pitch. Come join me if you dare (it's not cheap):
$35 + $1.50 service fee (apparently everyone charges for service these days):
