I'm eating a burger at the Stone Cup. The Bitterbrush trail was excellent. However, I'm sorry I never connected with the other attendees. There was no one at the Picture Rock parking lot (I checked, just in case), and I waited at the lower Hall Ranch parking lot until 9:10. I'm sorry for the confusion caused by Picture Rock Trail closure. I'll see some of you on the Mesa Trail hike, Sunday.

Nelson Loop is closed now too so it's good that you will turn around there.

I drove by the Picture Rock trail head and Graham is correct, the parking lot gates have been locked and the trail is now posted as 'Closed'.

Therefore, this meetup location has been moved to Hall Ranch, lower parking lot (parking lot closest to Highway 7), at 8:45AM. The run/hike will be on the Bitterbrush trail to the Nelson Loop.

To get to Hall's Ranch take Highway 66 into Lyons. At the stoplight turn left onto Highway 7. Hall's Ranch parking is approximately 3/4 of a mile past the city limits, on the right.

Warning! Do not speed as you pass through Lyons.

My only Internet access is from an Internet Cafe, and I won't be visiting one until after the run/hike. If you need to contact me my cell number is:[masked]

The Picture Rock Trail is closed for about the next 10 days or so depending on the weather. It is closed at the first turn so that Lyons residents may still make a loop. The gates to the lot will probably be shut today after the vehicle leaves. Sorry, we are just trying to avoid trail damage.

Graham, I drove by the Picture Rock trailhead this morning and there was an empty car in the parking lot and the gate was unimpeded. I'll check it again around noon.

Please note that Picture Rock trailhead has been closed recently due to very muddy conditions. So please check the Boulder County web site before proceeding to that particular hike. I volunteer With the county parks if you'd like other suggestions.

Judy is correct. According to my Boulder County Trails iPod app, Picture Rock Trail will be closed through the weekend. I'm in central California and will be arriving in Lyons the evening of the 6th. I'll check out the trail head and post an update then.

One of my goals is to begin running so that in May I'll be in good enough shape to run the Bolder Boulder Memorial Day 10K in approximately one hour. My actual goal is to run the 10K in less minutes than the years I am old (they give a ribbon to everyone that 'beats their age').

My training has just begun.  My March trail running pace will be in the 12 minute mile range, with a lot of hiking mixed in.

I’ll be in the Lyons area from March 7th through the 11th, and I’ll return for most of the month of May to train and acclimate for the Bolder Boulder.

All of my posted events are hike/run events where we depart at a specific time, and turn around at a specific time, so we may all finish together.

People can run and/or hike. My events include grabbing a bite to eat after the event. Join me if you have the time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
