Snowshoe/Spike Hike To Mt Aire in Millcreek Canyon

This is a workout, though it can be done at rather leisurely pace. This trail leads through some trees at first, but opens into fantastic views later and at the top.
1960 ft elevation gain in 1.8 mile (one way)s puts it in the moderate to strenuous difficulty range, depending on the pace. Mine will definitely be leisurely, but we will have fast hikers too.
The TH is located at Elbow Fork , 6.25 miles up the canyon, but we have to park 1.5 miles below it, at the winter gate and hike up the street (also covered with snow, so no big deal).
Prepare to sweat on the way up, then get cooler on the saddle and going down, so please wear layers and definitely bring some water.
Snowshoes may be necessary only in case we have new snow, otherwise spikes are highly recommended.
Better yet, have both, just in case.
Let's meet in the Dan's parking lot , under the big sign and carpool from there. Please have cash on hand to chip in for the $3 entrance fee.

That was great fun! Thank you guys for coming up Millcreek to do Elbow Fork backwards. Happy we got Shelly hooked up on snowshoeing though it was a challenging first time. See you soon!

Can't make. Daddy weekend and I don't think my daughter would be up for this hike.

Dogs are allowed in Millcreek though it is a leash day.
