If you are interested in speed, long distance, and/ or building your endurance, come and join me for another workout paddle starting from Highbanks (see map and directions). We'll go down the Saint John's River and stop for a while at Blue Springs SP- anyone who can roll their kayak can practice there, and show others how to do it. If you go into Blue Springs, you'll have to pay $1. Then we'll continue down and around Hontoon Island, cross one of the canals and paddle back up to Highbanks. The total trip is about 17 - 18 miles. The pace of the paddle will be between 4 - 5 mph. If you can paddle faster, you don't have to wait for us because the whole idea is to get people together who are interested in speed, doing long distance and improving their endurance while having fun.
Note: A sea kayak or surf ski is recommended for this trip.
Bring plenty of water, snacks, sunblock, a life vest, a whistle etc.
