The main purpose of this group is to meet other paddlers and spend more time paddling. All those who enjoy kayaking in the ocean, flat water, and whitewater are welcome to attend! Discuss gear, destinations, and kayaking expeditions. Folks who prefer canoes, rafts, or stand up boards are all welcome to join and paddle with the entire group. The more time we spend on the water the better. All members can create, coordinate, and lead paddling trips.
Monthly full moon paddle, weekly day trips, annual week long expedition and special instruction clinics through out the entire year.
The first thing you will notice about our meet-up is we spend more time paddling than creating club officers, rules, guide lines, and meetings. WE PADDLE and want as many opportunities as possible to be on the water.
Beginners welcome, meet up organizer is an ACA kayak/canoe instructor, Nationally certified Wilderness First Responder, International/National Sierra Club outings Leader, with over 20 years of full time guiding experience, who is eager to introduce people to a fantastic sport.
Your $25. membership fee covers:
1) You will have access to a free kayak to use on most meet-ups. We have 10 freebies so far and want to expand this number soon. 2) We will be doubling the amount of "instruction" based meet-ups. With all of our first timers and beginners showing up we need qualified paddling instructors to meet the demand. 3) Starting in 2014 we will be hosting a 3 day paddling symposium filled with classes, tours, personal instruction, demos, and camping. 4) Each year we will offer at least 3, week long, free river tours. 5) A $25. membership fee will weed out all the "no show's" who take up valuable space, the "spammers" who just want access to our membership and their emails, and the folks who join a hundred different meet ups because like like getting LOTS of emails. 6) All members will receive a 10% coupon for all of Adventures in Florida tours plus 10% off cards for most local outfitters is in the works. 7) ALL ACTIVE MEET UP ORGANIZERS, CO-ORGANIZERS, AND ASSISTANCE WILL BE REFUNDED THEIR $25. ASAP.
