January 4 & 5, 2014 Palmer House Chicago High Fashion Photography Workshop

The Chicago Palmer House Fashion & Advertising Photography Workshop on January 4 & 5, 2013 is a world class production Directed by Celebrity Fashion Advertising Photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz, a New York and Los Angeles Represented Photographer that shoots for major ad campaigns and magazine covers all over the world.  You will photograph a strong cohesive portfolio in a weekend at the Epic Palmer House Hilton Grand Ballroom with top agency represented fashion models and take your career to an entirely new echelon! Every Chicago Workshop that we have directed has been Published in Major Magazines!


Day 1 - The First Day is focused on Finding Your Photographic Vision and Building a Strong Cohesive Portfolio.  We will art direct a high fashion editorial and storyboard for the shoot day.  We discuss maximizing profits with your own unique style of work along with a master panel of experts including an Art Producer and Creative Director from an ad agency, who are decision makers that award $100,000 Ad Campaigns and will be viewingyour work.  We will be going into detail about the business of photography, networking, self-promotion, marketing, usage rights and how to maximize profitability as a photographer.  We will have in-depth advancedlessons on Editing, Post-Production, Retouching, Color Correction and consultation from a world class retoucher.  This aspect of the weekend will push you to your potential and maximize your imagery to enhance your branding as an advertising, editorial or even consumer photographer.  We will help you design and implementyour marketing campaign including Print Promos and E-Promos to reach potential clients and decision makersfor massive ad campaigns and magazine editorials.   We will show you how to create thought-provoking andemotive photographic images, and how to light them effectiveley with hands-on lighting demonstrationsto build your repertoire of techniques.    

Day 2 - On the Second Day you will photograph your own High Fashion Magazine Editorial Spread with Top Agency Represented Fashion Models Casted from FORD, FACTOR & BMG Models and Styled by CelebrityWardrobe Stylist Misha Geno with FORD Represented Makeup & Hair Stylist Misha Geno.  The entire experience is completely hands-on as you will have about 8 Hours straight of shooting time One-On-One with the talent.  You will be art directing your own fashion story and photographing a cohesive editorial spread under the guidance of Celebrity Fashion Advertising Photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz.  You will learn advanced Location Lighting and Studio Lighting Techniques to create a stunning 10 to 12 Page Fashion Editorial in a Day!  We are shooting with over $100,000 of High End Location Lighting Equipment Sponsoredby ProFoto and you will be stepping onto a world class production that is typical of a $30,000 Budget Advertising Production.  You will photograph a dynamic fashion story that will take your portfolio to an entirelynew level and build relationships with world class stylists, models, agencies and creative directors.  The last 23 Workshops have been published in Magazines such as The LA Fashion Magazine, LA Hott Magazine, DModa Magazine, Rangefinder, SLR Lounge and ProFoto.   We have even landed 5 Covers in The LA Fashion Magazine, and photographers who have enrolled in The Photography Workshop Series have even published 10 page feature editorials from their workshop experience.
