Back by popular demand: another Space Camp together with Chalkle!
What we are doing
We're camping overnight beside the beach in Paekakariki on the Kapiti Coast! Think bonfires, rocket launches and learning astronomical amounts about space, night photography, rocket science, astrology, the solar system, astronomy and how stars work. Plus: telescopes, cameras and much, much more!
The event will be held in multiple locations around the park so come excited and prepared for space travel between class locations.
This event is the prequel to an adventurous experiment which will involve launching a weather balloon with mini space experiments into the outer atmosphere and retrieving the results. Only people who have attended space camp will will be able to attend.

Evening activities:
After the classes there will be the possibility to join an adventurous mission space themed proportions through Queen Elizabeth Park.

Hey all! For the time lapse photography, please read your camera's manual before tomorrow if you can - you will need to know how to set the exposure / shutter duration to manual (or at the very least the duration to manual). The more you know about its manual operation, the more you will be able to do.
If you have a tripod and/or some way of triggering multiple exposures with minimal camera shake, such as a shutter release cable, remote control or intervalometer, please bring it. We'll have some spare tripods, some interesting light sources and other bits and pieces - but if you don't have these things, don't stress - we can work through the techniques and all get something from the sessions regardless of your gear level or experience.
