Located in an eerie forest away from the lights of town, you will embark on a venture through a scary forest where anything can happen. Step into the dark trees, and become engulfed by darkness, fear, and heart pounding terror!
One of the best kept secrets in New Zealand, this forest was one of the most feared places in ancient times. Nobody knows how many people mysteriously disappeared in the darkness, but people familiar with its history know one thing: to avoid the forest on the 25th of August, because on this date people don’t return from their walk...
But now there is a brave group of adventurers that have the courage to go into the forest on this exact date, to search for creatures lurking in the dark and determine for once and for all if the stories are true. The question is: will they return... Are you scared yet? You should be!
Warning: This is not a stroll in the park, this is bloody scary and not recommended for the faint hearted! Whahaha!
Where: Meeting in front of the Embassy Theatre (10 Kent Terrace).
Where to: We go up Mount Victoria, into some of the creepiest patches of forest Wellington has to offer.
What to bring: a (little) torch or headlamp, strong walking shoes, a change of underwear.
How long: approximately 2 hours.
Finishing: for the lucky one who does return.... a pub at Courtenay Place.
Difficulty: 3/5, there are steep uphill and downhill sections (although it’s not the steep parts your heart will suffer from).
