New members -- this one is for you! If you've joined in the past two months, you can RSVP to this easy-paced evening stroll up Mount Vic and meet some other new faces to Adventure Wellington.
The Plan: We start in front of the Embassy Theatre on Kent Terrace, and walk up Majori Banks Street until we reach the park...then up the hill to the Mount Victoria Lookout for some terrific 360 degree views.
Then we walk down again, following the last part of the Southern Walkway, with great views of the city and Oriental Bay, ending at Babylon on Oriental Parade for a drink.
Although the tracks are steep, we would do it on an easy pace with lots of stops to admire the views. The walk will take about two hours.
After the walk, those who are interested can come for a customary AW after-event drink!
Difficulty: 2.5/5
Distance: 6.5 km
Time: 2 hours (including 15 minutes at the summit)
What to bring: sturdy shoes, a camera, and maybe a walking stick for traversing the steep hills
How to get there: Frequently served by buses (catch a bus going to Courtenay Place) and we will end close to where we started (at the waterfront at Oriental Parade).

Thanks Roy and Eugene! :) Good walk (beginners you say!? Three times I slipped LOL) Glad I joined this group look forward to many more adventures. Thanks for the pics also! I stole many of em hehe. See you next time!

Another great bunch of people on the newbies walk - so many characters and great personalities at this gathering. Thanks to all and sundry for turning up and engaging with all other newbies - it is because of yourselves why these events are so cool. Great evening for walk, and the beer at the end of the walk, needless to say, was sublime!

There's coupon parking on most streets in Mt Vic, so free at that time of day - the nearest street is Majoribanks, opposite the end of Courtenay Place so you should be good.
