Not So Newbies "Oops we missed the Sunrise" Walk - up to Mt Vic lookout

Come and join me for this popular sunrise walk up to the summit of Mount Victoria. After the roaring success of previous Sunrise walks, and with the weather forecast suggesting a beaut morning for Sunday, what better way to start the day with a brisk walk to take in the stupendous views that prevail on top of Mt Vic. There will be some time for Hacky once we reach the top and also some baked treats for those that want to bring something to share. Afterwards, because of other commitments with AW, there will not be enough time for me to stop off at the Cambridge for extreme eggs on toast, but for others that sign up, you can make your own plans.
If you're looking for a bright and early start to the day, you can RSVP to this fairly briskly-paced sunrise stroll up Mount Vic and meet some other faces who are part of the Adventure Wellington group.
This event could be useful for those doing the 'Walk the Bays of Mirimar - all of them' later in the morning, as part of your preparations for the Oxfam Trailwalk in April.
The Plan:
We start in front of the Embassy Theatre at 6.00am sharp, head up Majoribanks Street, to the summit of Mount Victoria.
The lookout provides some lovely views overlooking the city and the hills in the west then finally back down to the city to enjoy the rest of the day.
If you're keen for a brisk paced walk through beautiful natural bush, at this not so unholy hour of the morning, this one is for you!
Time: 2 hours (tops!)
Difficulty: 6/10
Distance: 7kms
What To Bring: Sturdy footwear, a camera, a good sense of humor, fun attitude, a thermos of tea or coffee, a coffee mug, a light snack, tissues, and maybe a walking stick for traversing the steep hills. A windproof jacket and layers of clothing which you can peel off as you get hot could be useful.
How to get there: Just at the end of Courtenay Place, on Cambridge Terrace, at the Embassy Theatre.
This event will be cancelled if there are adverse weather conditions forecast.
