Come out to hear Okey Ndibe, author, at Jefferson Market

Nigerian author/journalist, professor, raconteur Okey Ndibe will be reading from his new, highly-praised novel Foreign Gods Inc. “We clearly have a fresh talent at work here. It is quite a while since I sensed creative promise on this level,” wrote Nobel prize winner Wole Soyinka. “Razor-sharp," wrote Janet Maslin in the New York Times. "Mr. Ndibe invests his story with enough dark comedy to make Ngene an odoriferous presence in his own right, and certainly not the kind of polite exotic rarity that art collectors are used to." This guy is fabulous! A great story teller and very funny!

This was my second time meeting Okey, and I'm hoping to have him on a panel at the next Brooklyn Book Festival. I'm almost finished with Foreign Gods, Inc., and was so absorbed I almost missed my subway stop.

Okey is an incredible storyteller! He had us all transfixed with stories about his life in Nigeria. He read a few passages from the book and I'm definitely going to read it! It was a wonderful event!

bunch of us are reading it - we should have a gathering in a month to discuss the book?

Can't wait to read about Ike's journey. Mr. Ndibe's was captivating in his story telling.
