Rolling out Scrum at Yahoo!

February 5th, we are looking very much forward to meeting Gabrielle Benefield, the former Senior Director of Agile Development at Yahoo!. Gabrielle was in charge of Yahoo!’s large-scale corporate adoption of Scrum, which encompassed more than 200 teams projects and over 1500 employees in the US, India, Europe, and Asia. Gabrielle is a certified Scrum Trainer, and has come to Norway this winter to lecture the Scrum Product Owner course at Iterate Institute.

Her talk this evening will be about her experiences with rolling out Scrum at Yahoo!. This is a unique opportunity to meet a celebrity within Agile thinking, listen to her story and ask questions regarding both the general dynamics of Scrum, and how this is applied to the "beyond large scale" scheme at Yahoo!.

And my dear, fellow meetupers: PLEASE cancel your RSVP-YES, should you be unable to attend. It's easy, and it gives others the opportunity to take your place. You're IT-professionals, you can do it smile

Interesting point about the importance of focusing on cultural change. It might be obvious, but it still forgotten in many attempts to "go agile".

Good presentation, it was a great opportunity to listen and talk to someone who has rolled out scrum at a large scale.

The presentation was too general. She spoke a bit like a politician. On the other hand she gave us some hints how to implement Scrum in a company (big company).

Interesting speaker, but the talk was in general too generic and high-flying. A lot of the good points drowned in fony slides and jibberish.

Interesting to hear about the difficulties of implementing scrum in a large corporation, but personally I would prefer programmers opinions.
