Hi, All -

It was great to see some of you at Agile 2013! We'll be hosting a special August Meetup on Thursday, August 15th with James Grenning. Please note that we'll be in a different room than usual. This month we'll be in conference room 20F.

The topic is TBD, but James is a guy worth hearing regardless of the topic. He's an author of the agile manifesto, a book author, and is a
frequent keynote speaker at major conferences. Follow him on twitter https://twitter.com/jwgrenning or check out his blog http://www.renaissancesoftware.net/blog/

Loved the slides and delivery, especially the fast paced slides. James is an expert on the topic and it was good to get a chance to meet him in person.

Very interesting topic, great speaker, felt good connecting with other like-minded folks at the meeting, re-connected with some people I've worked with in the past. Overall, 5 stars! Thanks, IHG, for hosting the meetup!

Does anyone have the contact information on the recruiters that came to the event? I'd like to reach out to them.

Yes, connect with me / message me on Linked In - Vladimir Zafirov. I will pass the contacts to you. (just not sure if they want their contacts posted here, so...)

Is there a cost associated with these meet ups? Unfortunately I cannot make this one, but would like to become an active member of this group. I am a practicing ScrumMaster and Business Analyst with the NCR Corporation with specific focus on Financial, Travel, and Retail Systems Management Enterprise Software Research and Development.

It is a free meetup that typically has pizza from sponsers. Just bring yourself and you are good!

    This just in from James...

    Title: Technical Excellence

Technical excellence is more than two week sprints, a burn down chart and a daily stand up. The basic rules of Agile or Scrum is not an end in itself, but rather staring point based upon principles and practices that allow and encourage teams to adopt, adapt, and refine their craft. Technical excellence requires focus. Focus on the customer; focus on discovering and avoiding wasteful activities; focus on code quality. It means continually learning; it means working as a team; it means being realistic about what is possible. We’ll look at why technical excellence is critical and what each of us can do to strive for technical excellence.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
