We had attendees from eight different companies with a diverse set of skills ? business and account management, project management, user experience, development and technical and even a Scrum Coach.
The goals that we discussed for the group include: ? Sharing information and learning from others ? the group is especially interested in the practical applications of Scrum and how Scrum may be applied in different situations and different industries; we would accomplish this goal through open forums in the meetings and online and by presentation of case studies ? To eventually have sponsors that would allow us to bring in guest speakers and trainers; we might also invite certain vendors to present to the group such as software vendors ? To become familiar with and potentially work with the other Agile groups in the area ? To increase membership and promote Scrum throughout the Atlanta area
We may want to alternate our meeting locations for specific purposes, i.e. meet in a public place to potentially boost our social interactions and help new members get to know the group
We will defer the decision on whether to charge dues until such time as the group identifies specific uses for additional funds; we feel that charging dues at this time may be a barrier to growing our membership, which is one of our primary goals
Basic Scrum Training ! For discussion ? case studies and/or current Scrum issues as suggested by members and approved by the group
