We are planning to hold meetup #6: The Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback Workshop on Monday February 24, 2014 at 6pm. Please RSVP by 2/20 as we are hosting this meetup at GAO building located at 441 G St NW, Washington, DC (in Chinatown). This will allow time for the host to get participants access to the building.
The Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback Workshop
This is a rich, interactive workshop with activities and practice that will help you become more effective at work. Feedback is something we do hundreds of times a day without much consideration to how it is given, or how it could be even given more deliberately. Whether we are talking about interpersonal feedback or feedback from individuals/teams to the system we are working within, we often have fears for both giving and receiving feedback. Much of this workshop is based on the teachings/writings of Jerry Weinberg and Virginia Satir.
However, we may also learn basic elements of Clean Language questions, and Non-Violent Communication to supplement our toolset (enhanced listening/observation; and enhanced ability to make requests of others). We will use exercises from Training from the Back of the Room to ensure this is a rich, experiential learning experience for all participants. You will leave with several new aha’s and tools in your back pocket to become a better observer, listener, and feedback-giver.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
