The Agile Mindset: The Key To Being Agile Not Just Doing Agile

The Agile Mindset: The Key To Being Agile Not Just Doing Agile will explain why Agile is a Mindset, not a process, nor a methodology. This session is not only intended for people new to Agile but also people that have been doing Agile but feel that they are still not being Agile. Dr. Ahmed Sidky will explore the Agile mindset and how to be value-driven and flexible in the way we think and behave not just do iterations and stand-ups. The talk will help decipher why most Agile implementations are challenged with a culture change and why many Agile teams end up doing just the "rituals" of Agile instead of truly embracing the mindset, values and principles.

The Agile Mindset: The Key To Being Agile Not Just Doing Agile will be presented by Dr. Ahmed Sidky. Along with many years of experience in software development, Ahmed Sidky has a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in value-based process frameworks for effective agile adoption. Ahmed's work has gained popularity and respect in the Agile community as a pragmatic approach for organizations of all sizes attempting to adopt agile. Ahmed is frequently referred to as, Dr. Agile, on account of developing a free online agile readiness assessment toll named Doctor Agile (www.doctoragile.com). He is a frequent speaker at numerous national and international agile conferences as well as the co-author of a new book on practical agile adoption title Becoming Agile.

The Agile Mindset Meetup was really great. QA Source did a great job of hosting the event and Ahmed Sidky of Santeon Group's presentation was excellent. Ahmed's passion for the Agile Mindset and his clear explanations were very helpful in getting to a better understanding of how to be Agile and not just do Agile. The discussion between presenter and attendees was rich and the exchange of ideas even more thought provoking. It was also great to meet new Agilists in the Bay Area. Thank you for a very enlightening evening.

Excellent. Ahmed did a great job, and was actually presenting material very close to subjects I'm thinking deeply about right now.

First meetup with this group. Looking forward to meeting, learning and contributing. One area of interest currently is to learn how this group has dealt with agile QA metrics reporting which ties back into a very structured and regulated company which "thinks" that it wants the exec level classic QA metrics. Looking to see what lean qa metrics work in compliance regulated industries. Can't wait to meetup!
