It's been great to hear of renewed interest in the group as of late. I am officially off sabbatical at this point and looking forward to getting back to regular meetings. I will send out a new event schedule on the Meet Up calendar shortly, but we generally meet twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of a given month at 7pm at Artisan's Cafe in Phoenixville. This Wednesday may not give folks enough time to prepare so I'd like to suggest next Tuesday the 9th (I will likely be out of town next Wednesday) and then the 24th for our meetings this month and then get back on a 1st and 3rd Wednesday schedule beginning in November.
To pick up on an earlier comment, as Doug mentioned already, there are a diversity of views held by those who attend our meetings and I think that is what makes our gatherings as lively and productive as they are. Preaching to the choir is not possible since there is no real choir to speak of, as most attendees are singing from different song sheets entirely.
Regarding activities, our group hasn't done much outside of regular meetings (we're thinkers not doers for goodness sake!) but i am open to such. Perhaps I can deputize a AA Social Coordinator for other gatherings if someone would be interested in heading it up? How about a committee? We can become a bloated bureaucracy with a budget we can consistently blow and have reams of red tape so that nothing ever gets done? Or not... Maybe just a Social Coordinator... any takers?
Please look out for the invite from Meet Up and mark your calendar for the 9th.
I have attached a Thought For The Day from one of my favorite philosophers:
Looking forward to seeing old friends again and making new ones...
