Dedicated to those who are interested in the intelligence of machines and the design aims to create it. This includes coverage in the fields of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, cognitive science, linguistics, ontology, operations research, economics, control theory, probability, optimization and logic.
The activities pursued in making this field useful include robotics, control systems, scheduling, data mining, logistics, speech recognition, facial recognition and many others.
The host of this MeetUp has a broad background across many fields and a particular interest with AI in data mining, data representation, and neural nets. Insofar as experience, designs have been done in LISP (lambda calculus), Prolog, Trilogy, and CL (declarative languages).
The conduct of the Meetups is variable to suit those in attendance. I frequently offer a suggested subject, but that doesn't exhaust the possibilities. You will find my suggestion as the lead-in headline for any occasion. Sometimes there is a continuity in those subject offerings I propose. An example was last year's Netflix Challenge, this year it is with Stanford's online AI course. Neither of these suggested subjects limited the scope of discussion and those who participated were happily surprised how the conversation turned to serve their immediate need.
The existential reality of what A.I. Meetups are for: they are for meeting up to discuss A.I. Membership is strictly limited to those who offer good faith pledges to RSVP and attend at least once in a three month span.
