After working independent for the past 7 years, I have seen a few things that went good and quite a few that have not. When things break down, it's almost always due to poor communication.

It doesn't have to be like this.

We'll discuss the mindsets of everyone involved with seeing a project succeed and what tools or techniques can help to fill the communication gap. I'll then open up the floor for some Q&A and hopefully insight from the experience of others.

Blue Frog Gaming has been gracious to host us many times, but there is a little catch to the building. Sometimes, the doors will automatically lock and you can only get in if someone comes looking for you.

If you have issues getting in, please text[masked] for help.

I've been doing remote work for a couple of years, so hopefully I'll have an insight or two.

Hello Akron/Canton web meetup! I'm Katie & I am working with Code for America (codeforamerica.org), a nonprofit out of San Francisco. We are working on a project with the County of Summit, and we would love to meet the local tech community.

This is a really great topic for a meeting. Can't make it because I already have plans, but I am very interested.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
