Stanford House to Brandywine Falls & back.

Let's hike the Standford trail and loop around the Brandywine Gorge Trail and see the falls. These trails are MODERATE to DIFFICULT because of the terrain, hills and steps. Both trails have rocks and roots that stick out, and they are everywhere. These two trails are not recommended to individuals with bad knees and ankles.

We will start the hike at the Stanford House and go up the Stanford Trail, circle around the Brandywine Gorge Trail and see the falls last. There is a wonderful boardwalk that takes you down right in front of the falls, and then head back to the Standford House.

There are signs posted to clearly identify where the Standford House is. (The address above will take you right there). You will enter the Standford House on a white gravel driveway. There is parking along the house and behind the barn.

Bring a camera for some great pictures of the gorge and falls.

The Standford Trail is 1.75 miles. Elevation change: 190 feet

Brandywine Gorge Trail is 1.5 miles. Elevation change: 160 feet

Total distance: 4.5 miles (due to some overlap)

Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

It was a beautiful night for a hike with a great group. Thank you all for coming out! Do you have a preference between Tue or Thur next week for another adventure?

Stanford trail is straight, then we will go counter clockwise around the brandywine trail. If you go right, instead of left, probably meet at the falls.

How is this group in regards to those of us who aren't in the best shape? I don't know how fast you guys walk.

Speed isn't a goal, enjoying the trail and the company are the priorities.
