Cabin Fever Saturday Hike, Snowshoe or Skiing at Quail Hollow

Even though the trails may be snow covered, we can still get out of the house and enjoy our local parks. This year we are repeating our Cabin Fever Saturdays series on alternating weeks during January, February and March.

Depending on the trail, you may be able choose from hiking or snowshoeing. Some parks do not offer snowshoe rental. The meet-up listing notes whether snowshoe rental is available at the trail-head. You are welcome to bring your own and wear them on any of these hikes. Trails unsuitable for snowshoeing will also be noted.

Cross-country skis ARE available at Quail Hollow. Please arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for rental and ski fitting and orientation. The trails are suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. You arewelcome to bring your own.

Sorry I was late. I had the roads mixed up in my head and when I realized it I ended up having to go way out of my way to get back on track. It was nice to hike with Dave and Nadia. Beautiful park. I will go back there again (now that I know my way!)

Depending on the trails we take, it's 2 1/2 to 3 miles?

This will be my first time winter hiking. I don't have hiking boots, but do you recommend them? Any other suggestions on dress would be helpful. Also, how long is this event?

Sherri, These trails are flat and well maintained. A good pair of waterproof shoes would work well. In good weather, athletic shoes work. There are places where water can accumulate on the trail.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
