Beyond Normal Analytics, UX Eye for the Dev Guy

Beyond Normal Analytics - Jeff Herb

Normal site/app analytics expose where users went and what they did, but it falls short of helping us understand what they wanted to do or the quality of their experience. We'll explore lesser known facets of analytics and automated feedback techniques that can assist in understanding user intent and measuring successes and failures.

UX Eye for the Dev Guy (App/Site Needed!)

A "UX Eye" Evaluation is a mini "UX Hackathon" where we will (live at the Meetup) seek to identify user experience problems and potential solutions with an app/site that needs UX help. Do you or someone you know have a app/site that could use some good UX guidance? Let us know.

Let's get a bunch of potential topics in the discussion and let the right ones bubble up for this Meetup!

This was fun. Kudos to the folks bold enough to throw their work out there for comment. As UXers we need to push ourselves to make our work available, no matter how raw we think it is. Iterate early and often blah blah blah. That said, I didn't think either app was "raw".
Didn't get to say this due to time constraints but I really liked the *tone* of the corkboard app. I was saying to myself that I would hesitate to give my email when I didn't know what i was signing up for, but i would describe the tone as "sincere and trustworthy and friendly" so i just might in this case. Nice job with the copy in general - great tone, good economy of words, little fluff.
