Beginning in Bull Run Regional Park, we'll hike a section of the Bull Run – Occoquan Trail. We'll hike for about an hour and then retrace our steps back to the parking lot. Round trip this hike will be approx. two hours long. The first 45 minutes is relatively flat, but the trail becomes steep as we get close to our turnaround point.

Meetup Point
Shelter 12 parking lot

Directions: Take I-66 to Exit 52 (Route 29) at Centreville, drive 2 miles south, turn left onto Bull Run Post Office Road and follow the signs to the park entrance. Once you pass the entrance station, proceed straight and park in the large, paved lot for Shelter 12 (will be on your left just before the Camp Store).

What to Bring
Water, hiking boots

Park Entrance Fee
Free for residents of Alexandria, Arlington, City of Fairfax, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Loudoun, otherwise $7 per vehicle.
