Year of the Rabbit - Lunar New Years Banquet

Hi All!

*********
UPDATE 1/25/11 - More than 50 RSVPs now and so the event is ON! Location has been set and menu will be worked out when I visit with the owner in the next week or so.

We have our own room on the third floor of the restaurant. The room can seat 60-70 people comfortably. The room is also equipped with Karaoke so attendees can sing their hearts out!

Its going to be a great menu that includes beer!

RSVP WITH PAYPAL PAYMENT FOR A GUARANTEED SEAT

*********

February 3rd is the official Lunar New Year's Day! If there is enough interest then I can organize a traditional 10 course Lunar New Year's Banquet with entertainment like Lion Dance and Singers and Dancers.

The 10 course meal typically includes a whole fish, lobster, duck, chicken, vegetable, appetizers, soup, noodles, fried rice. etc etc.

Something like this would probably be around $50 dollars with entertainment.

We would need at least 50 people to attend. I still have to work out the dates but will most likely be evening of the 12th or 13th.

RSVP for yourself and guests if you think you can attend! Also, let me know if you prefer Saturday or Sunday night!

Alex, once again your attention to detail really made this a really fun event. The rice wine, the lion dancers, the karaoke machine and those beautiful, little red envelopes...all made it very special. The food, especially that delicious chicken, and service were terrific. Oh, and you really *do* have a good voice! But, I have a feeling that's not the first time you've sung that song;-) Thanks again.

Only 10 courses; seems like a whole lot more. Great foods, great company and a most wonderful host. Alex, I don't care what anyone else says, you do have a great karaoke voice..... And the Lion Dancers, amazing energy!

Red is the symbol of good fortune and a color of the new year. Feel free to wear a red dress or something red.

Hi Alex, I just wondering if this Banquet is serving the traditional 10 course Chinese dishes or it will be American Chinese?? I am Chinese, so that's my only concern. Thanks

Hi Alex - so.....55 people . Great ! need to know where and details as soon as possible. I just want to be sure you were able to book this somewhere and what date for sure . Thanks alot

Some where in Chinatown of course. It will depend on who has the space available. There will be a lot of Asian Associations planning banquets in February. I am thinking potentially Joy Tsin Lau, Imperial Inn or one of the other larger restaurants.

. Do you know where you would like to have it if you get 50 people . I have been asked that by people who are interested in attending . Thanks !

  • Alex C.

Thanks for the suggestion Patricia. We would be able to have a much better meal on our own. Let's try to get more people! If we don't have 50 people then I will most likely still do something on a smaller scale.

The Joseph Poon dinner is an option if you dont get the #'s for what you are looking for . I hear its great and 35 people is still a large group so might as well do something !
