The Texas Public Utility Commission has approved a 50% increase in wholesale electricity rates-retail tsyrd will probably be more. Our speaker will explain many DIY no-cost and low-cost ways to make homes more energy efficient. He will also explain when DIY is appropriate and when we might need the help of a professional.
CT Loyd is our August speaker and one you do not want to miss. From taking his energy efficiency classes, I can say that he knows more about energy efficiency than anyone else in the DFW area. His years of experience in the field gave him his DIY knowledge.
None of us want an increase of 50% (or more) in our electricity bills so come find out how to keep some of your money in your pocket. Bring your friends and neighbors, too. They do not need to be a member of Meetup to attend.

Very poor presentation. Too long and boring about details of deregulation of little interest. Not enough time to discuss ways to actually cut energy costs

Very informative and comprehensive! CT's credentials are impeccable. Much of the information was the result of research that I would never have known how to do or access. I would have given it 5 stars except it was a 2.5 hour presentation w/out a break. However, it was still time well spent. When I spoke to CT afterwards he admitted he needed to organize his material so it could be shorter.

I really enjoyed the meeting this morning and wanted to share a few resources that I have found on efficiency.

- This is the home energy monitor that I have, there are many others like the TED 5000. I picked mine up off of ebay.

Please invite others--they do not need to be a member of meetup to come--our classroom is large and will accomodate many of us who need to be aware of this little surprise from Texas PUC.
