Mini-Fair on Homesteading Skills

The Mother Earth News magazine has designated September as International Homestead Education Month and The Dallas Alternative Energy Group is sponsoring this event.  (We are listed on their website: MotherEarthNews.com/Homesteadeducation. We are having an event Sept. 8 in Dallas and Sept 22 in Greenville.  See Terry's listing for more information.

Homesteading is no more than living wisely, being resourceful and not harming the planet.  So whether you live in an apartment or a farm, there are things you can do around your home.

This event will feature demostrations on canning, organic gardening, using solar electricity, water purification, other forms of energy efficiency for your home, wind, water, composting, reusing items, chicken coops, etc.

While you are here, don't forget to stroll through the store and gardens; you might just find something you can't live without!

In closing, if anyone of you have a skill, sell a product or would like to discuss an idea you have, please email me if you would like to table at this event.  You must pre-register.

Hope you see you there!

All my participants showed up, all the public showed up and I believe everyone had a good time chatting with the participants and learning about their particular skills and trades. There were a couple of good jokes too! Hopefully, we can do this again next September!
