Friends,

Don't miss this opportunity to join us this Saturday, Sept. 8th at 2:30pm for an exclusive screening of Robert Redford's new film, WATERSHED.

This event is a partnership between the Phoenix Art Museum, the Redford Center, Sonoran Institute, Environmental Defense Fund, Save the Colorado River Campaign and Instituto del Desierto Sonorense.

The film, WATERSHED: Exploring a New Water Ethic for the New West, tells the story of the threats to the once-mighty Colorado River through heartening character vignettes that reveal a new water ethic as well as 21st Century solutions.

The Redford Center created WATERSHED as an inspirational social action tool for people who want to engage in the issue and become informed water consumers. Promoting personal water conservation pledges and garnering donations to help purchase the water rights necessary to restore the connectivity, WATERSHED is a central tool in a larger grassroots effort focused on saving the Colorado River and supporting the communities throughout the river basin.

Panel Discussion to Follow

Following the film, we will welcome an esteemed panel of experts for a lively discussion of WATERSHED related issues and action steps you can take to become an informed consumer of water.

The panel will be moderated by Shaun McKinnon, the Arizona Republic's seasoned reporter and journalist on environmental and water issues in the West. Other panelists include:

Francisco Zamora Arroyo - Director, Colorado River Delta Legacy Program, Sonoran Institute

Gary Wockner, PhD - Campaign Coordinator, Save the Colorado River Campaign. Also, representing the Redford Center.

Thomas W. McCann, Assistant General Manager for Operations, Planning and Engineering, Central Arizona Project (CAP)

Dr. Juliet C. Stromberg, Associate Professor, School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University

I have had a chance to see the the film and it is excellent and inspiring. The panel discussion that will follow promises to be lively and interesting.

Please plan to join us on September 8th. We look forward to seeing you there.
