Cycle tour *around* Copenhagen, via the Green Route circle and along the harbor

This is a tour I have done for cycle-tour clients in the past - it's a comfortable ride with a mix of city riding, 'green route' riding, forest riding, and coastal riding, covering about 27 km in 3-4 hours.

Plenty of opportunities to extend or shorten the route at several key points in the ride, and there are several decent cafes and small restaurants at about the half-way point just west of the City Zoo where we can stop for a drink or light lunch to recharge for the rest of the trip.

Notable detour points to extend the ride into more forestry/park areas begin at 1) turning west after the Zoo onto Roskildevej and taking the forest/park route in Brøndby (which turns south to the coast), and 2) into Amagerfælled just north of Bella Center. We can assess everyone's fitness at each detour point to see how the group wants to proceed. The detours add roughly an hour to the tour. We can adjust water/drink breaks accordingly.

The basic route can be viewed here: http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=fpqfmcfjiyqcrpaz

(and while I am a cycle tour guide, I'm not charging for the ride, just sharing the route with everyone in the meetup as a nice ride around the city.)

This meetup is being hosted by Jimm Pratt from the American and Copenhagen Adventurers Meetup groups. Larry will probably not attend

Thanks to everyone who attended - 7 out of 11 is not a bad turnout! I'll plot a couple of other routes in the near future for a sunny Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks for organizing this nice trip, and especially for the bike repairs afterwards!

Sorry it took longer than I thought to cycle to the start point, and must have just missed you all leaving (around 10:08)
    Have a good ride

No worries, Polly - there was a positive response to this tour, so I'm sure I'll do another next month. :)

Wow! Great to see so many people signed up for the tour! Remember to bring fluids at the start. Please try to arrive about 10 minutes before the start time for any last minute adjustments to your bike (I have access to our bike shop tools if needed) - pump up your tires, adjust your seat, tighten some screws/bolts, stretch the legs, and to go over the route quickly. Look for a group standing in front of, or near, the Copenhagen Bicycles bike rental shop. At 10:05 we are on the road! Weather looks good with a temperature range between 15-17 degrees Celsius, and a slight chance that the gods will pee on us around noon-time, but nothing that should cancel the ride. Wear appropriate clothing!

Stragglers can catch up by following the map and looking for a group led by someone (me) on a 3-wheeled recumbent trike. It looks like this: http://goo.gl/7KNSc or http://goo.gl/thkAI

Welcome everyone who is attending! Remember to dress appropriately, and bring a bottle of water or two at the start. I plan to make a few stops during the tour for drink breaks, or to buy more drinks as needed. Any questions, please post here!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
