Yes friends before we hit the great Braunstein Micro Brewery In Køge i though we can take in a little culture and lunch in Roskilde. The kings and queens of Denmark are buried in the Roskilde cathedral and there is lots of history in this cathedral. Since we will be 10 or more people the admission to the cathedral will be 40Kr. each. We can also go to the viking ship museum at the harbour if there is time for that. To keep the price of lunch i thought we could eat in Gringos Mexican taco buffet for 59Kr. if we want to. No matter what we do in Roskilde we should take a train to køge latest 16.59 so we can get to the brewery in køge by latest 18.00. In køge we will take a tour of the great Braunstein brewery. The tour takes about 60 to 90 minutes but the good part is after the tour we will go into the tasting pub and be allowed to drink all we want of the micro brew beer and other kinds of hard alcohol that Braunsten brewery makes!! Yes friends we will leave the brewery feeling very happy. The brewery tour including all you can drink costs 150Kr. What a nice way to get into the XMas sprit. Oh yes Braunstein also makes a fine XMas beer. I have posted links to Braunstein brewery and The Roskilde Cathedral and Gringos restaurant below. I need a quick reply because we must be at least 20 persons for the brewery tour and you are welcome to only RSVP and say you will only attend the brewery tour if you want.

Learning about how a society brews its hooch is a great way of learning about the culture. Michael had plenty of information to share.

Everyone liked the Roskilde Cathedral and after that cultural experience we had lunch in bones because for some unexplainable reason Gringos was closed event though the sign outside says open all day noon to 23.00. Oh well the burger tasted fine! The brewery tour was awesome! Micheal is a talkative host who had a lot to say about Braunstein. Of course we had a chance to taste some great beers and some great snaps made by Braunstein including a snaps with a stick of wood from the royal families woods in it. Funny thing is the royal snaps was not the best tasting snaps so the royals can keep it! I had a beer snaps that i thought was nice. After the brewery i went to a beer pub in koge and had a great tasting hornybeer! All in all a nice event.

    Hi Larry,
How much is the cost of the train? And should I get a ticket in advance?

    February 22, 2013

    • Larry

we can buy a 8 zone clip card for 470Kr and that will cover 10 of us to Roskilde so we just divide 470Kr by 10!

I was being brainless earlier...checked Rejseplanen & we are looking at 8 zones to Roskilde St. I like the idea of a 8 zone klipkort. Also, it is 48 dkk from Roskilde to Køge St. I plan to us my Zone Ekstra klipcort for the return trip...unfortunately that can't be shared as it is tied to my stamkort.

Awesome! Alison just RSVPd YES to attend so as long as all 16 show up it should cost 150Kr each to tour the brewery and drink beers at the end of the tour!

    HI!

You have RSVPd YES to attend the brewery tour tommorow.PLease be on time in front of the McDonalds inside the Copenhagen central station. If you do not show up and you have RSVPd YES to attend you will be removed from this meetup! It looks like we will be 15 attending altogether from this and my other meetup group which means the brewery tour will cost a between 150 and 175Kr. If we were 16 it would be 150Kr each for sure but again we are only 15. 2 of those attending will meet us at the brewery. See you tommorow!!

    Regards,Larry

    HI!

You have RSVPd YES to attend the beer and culture event and i need you help. Right now with the American and International Expats meetup groups we are 12 who want to attend this brewery and culture event but we have to be minimum 15 attending for this tour to happen so please ask your friends if they may be interested. it would be a pity to cancell the event because we need 3 more people to attend!

    Regards,Larry
