The best actors do extensive research to immerse themselves in a role.

Two such stars - Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf - spent Wednesday and Thursday prepping for their upcoming film Fury at Fort Irwin in the scorching Mojave Desert.

The 49-year-old World War Z star and the 27-year-old Transformers star joined the Perks of Being a Wallflower's Logan Lerman to meet with soldiers at the National Training Center.

'It was a unit-sponsored event with just a small group of soldiers in the field,' the Fort Irwin spokesman Gus Bahena told the Desert Dispatch.

'There was no official meet-and-greet. They’re only here for a brief visit to observe the complex training environment that the National Training Center has to offer.
