The purpose of this group is for Americans, honorary Americans and anyone who just likes Americans, to get together! For those of us far from home, it's really nice to be able to talk to others about all the old familiar stuff. And since we all immediately have in common the decision to move to this beautiful, faraway land, we are all automatically friends! So let's get together to share our experiences, help each other, get and receive advise, and just have some fun!

Most important, let's get some meetup ideas going! This is a large and very diverse group, with lots of different interests and needs. And there are a lot of us. So if you have an idea for a meetup, please post. If enough people like your idea, then I will schedule it. And you may just find yourself  hosting your event! There are no bosses here, we are a community.
