AU-GA is marching again in the Annual East Cobber Parade

Every year the East Cobber Magazine promotes a community parade. For the past several years Americans United GA has participated, and we have again signed up for this year's event. I am hoping to have at least 20 AU supporters join us on September 21, 2013. There is no limit, so if all 160 meet-up members want to march (or any one else) ... come on down. The exact time and marching positions have not been determine yet. I have posted the general location for us to meet at, and will send out the specifics once I have received them. For those of you who have marched in the past please bring your AU Freedom First tee shirts. I have 5 left from last year and hope that I can get some more from the national office. There will be Channel 23 TV coverage and I've posted below what they will say as wee march in front of the cameras. The reaction to our AU group has been very good in the past and I look forward to having a larger number of us marching this year. Here is what the TV announcers will say about us. "Americans have more religious freedom than any people in world history. We can choose what to believe or not to believe. We have the separation of church and state to thank for this broadly based First Amendment established freedom. Since 1946 AU has been a national organization standing in support of its local chapters for all American residents’ right of belief against potential threats to that freedom. AUGA can be contacted thru the website Remember, while the Constitution offers us a wonderful guarantee of freedom, it is, as with all guarantees, only as good of a protection for our liberty as the strength of our demand that it be honored and lived up to. If we sleepwalk through our democracy, assuming that the protections are there automatically, we can assuredly kiss our freedom, our liberty our way of life goodbye."
