This week's Facebook topic is: This Saturday is our last Event of 2012. Are you going to be there and do you plan to have an awesome time? ;)
Yeah, no more test stress! Now you get to lay back and just enjoy your Japanese study from now until next August :) I hope that everybody did well on Sunday. Even if all you did was show up for the test, you have accomplished something amazing and you have already won. Your scores and everything else is just icing on the cake.
I heard that 7 Group Members had an awesome time at Lauren's highly-rated Event this past Saturday! Very nice. It looks like it was all new members, which always make things interesting. Lauren knows how to organize very fun Events and we are super grateful to have her as the Assistant Organizer :) If you really enjoyed karaoke this past weekend, she also runs her own Meetup group that is devoted to Japanese-language karaoke. Feel free to check it out! http://www.meetup.com/JKaraoke/
We have 1 upcoming Event to finish up the year and it is happening this weekend. Please RSVP for this upcoming Event as soon as you can!
Emily H's 日本交流会 Japanese x American Cultural Exchange Party on Saturday, December 8th:
Thank you to Eilis, Arthur, Andrew, Jennifer, Linda and Brian for your Facebook posts. You have really been busy on Facebook this past week! I am very impressed. I am also getting a tad jealous of all of the great kanji that you are using in your posts! So I have been slowly adding more and more kanji study into my daily Japanese practice. Especially while using an awesome RTK app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/remembering-the-kanji/id424471278?mt=8
Also, for the weekly Facebook post, I put up a really great comic strip that I found online that discusses the JLPT. It is funny but it was tough to find! Since the JLPT is not really a concern of native Japanese people, it is difficult to find non-commercial Japanese websites that discuss it. Here is the link for the website where I obtained the manga strip, so check it out! http://heysaymonsters.sakura.ne.jp/philippineshome/archives/1636
See you on Facebook!
P.S. Well, actually, it turns out that the website is run by the mangaka and he is trying to sell his manga. I guess that would make it commercial. Whatever. Just enjoy the comic, purchase optional! :p
Japanese Language 24/7 Policy: Inactive (non-participating) members will be gently deleted from our roster on a weekly basis. The definition of "inactive" is a member who does not post on Facebook OR attends any Group Events for 30 consecutive days. To be considered "Active" and to avoid being gently deleted, come to at least 1 Meetup Event a month OR post at least 1 Facebook post a month. Thank you. And I am always available for any questions or help in regard to Japanese language. If you want or need help, please ask. We are all here to learn WITHOUT judgment or trolling. The only bad Japanese that will get you booted from this group is NO Japanese (or being a no-show at an Event.)
