Conversation and Tutoring

Maybe we can set up a conversation meet up to practice Amharic and for people who need help with basic skills, we could pair up native speakers with beginners (like a practice/teaching lesson) ... maybe we could do this for the first 30min to an hour then mingle -practice our Amharic (happy hour or dinner) afterward

Really sorry I got an overnight temperature figured the group would do better without my presence! Next time. Thanks, JIM

Hi! I just joined the group and wondered if there are any kids (or families) that are members. We are looking for a weekend, daytime, no-pressure way to practice Amharic.

Selamawit, I'm glad to hear you work at the ECC. We've tried to take classes there, but they just don't have enough students, so we've hired one of the teachers as our tutor. It's expensive and I think this group should be able to come up with more students, both adults and kids. Yes, kids get bored quickly, and I think having a table of kids next to their parents at some neutral place (like a cafe) is the way to go.

Maybe after Saturday's event (which I can't attend) there might be more interest. I have a few families outside this group who have talked about getting together--we just need a native speaker and a little organization!
