A third attempt at a novel: "Searching for Billy". A young, well-brought-up and coddled Englishman feels driven to seek his true identity. After the shocking discovery that he is an adopted orphan, his search leads him to strange places, like a Parisian gay bar, a fraught meeting with his biological father in the dining room of a luxury hotel and an African war child orphanage, before he realises that what he is looking for can never be ‘found’.
Recently: "The Rosie Project" and "The Rosie Effect", by Graeme Samson, "Us" by David Nicholls, "A Place Called Winter" by Patrick Gale, and "Nora Webster" by Colm Toibin.

Hi! I am a semi-retired Dutch-Canadian. My first novel has been published - very exciting! I got useful advice from members of this group along the way. Now I'm trying to develop something new - and very different.
An inspiring group; they offer challenge and support in the right proportions for me. Thank you all!
