I would like to invite to "From my mother's Russian Kitchen" dinner on 18 February, 19:00, café Vief, Ten Katestraat 16, Amsterdam.
Since I started to cook it was my dream to arrange a vegan dinner where I will cook the best of the foods I grew up with. I was born in Russia in 1984 and in 1990 together with my family we moved to Israel. This dinner is almost like a picture album full of memories of all these rich, wonderful and satisfying Russian dishes my mother continued to make also in Israel.
It is still winter and it seems to be the most appropriate time to cook dishes that come from one of the coldest countries in the world. There are so many wonderful Russian foods I would like to share with you and my favorite ones are all in this menu.
The menu: 25 euros
Borscht- red soup from beet root and vegetable with seiten and "sour cream".
Piroshki- buns stuffed with cabbage served on a bed of "Korean" spicy carrot salad.
Grechka (Buckwheat) with mushrooms served with Olivie-vinigrette Russian style rich salad.
